University City is known to have the best food trucks around Philadelphia. Around Drexel’s campus you can get a great lunch for under $10. Let me open your eyes to some of the best lunches on campus that won’t break the bank.
Schmear It -rotating locations -You can chose from various bagels and spread combinations or build your own sandwich! Bagels with cream cheese starting at $2.50. You must try the veggie sammy or the Nutella banana on a chocolate chip bagel! Usually at Drexel on Thursdays.
Cucina Zapata -31st and Ludlow -You have not eaten tacos until you’ve tried the Cap’n Crunch tilapia burrito. This babe is studded with pico de gallo, avocado and peanut sauce, definitely a must try if you are near Main building or worth the walk if you are at URBN.
Mac Mart – 33rd and Arch – Oh Mac Mart, how I love you so, the creamy cheesey Mac is available with over 20 different toppings. Must tries are the buffalo chicken Mac and the jalapeño popper bowl. Marty, the owner, is a Drexel Design and Merchandising grad too!
Pitruco -33rd and Market – I love personal pizzas because you get to eat the whole thing by yourself! Pitruco even has a brick oven in the back of the truck.
Cheese E Wagon -33rd and Market – Ever see those grilled cheese pictures on Instagram when they pull the sandwich apart and the cheese stretches for almost a foot? Well look no further than Cheese E Wagon. With gourmet and simple grilled cheeses they will satisfy your cheese craving.
