Saving money can be hard when there are so many shoes to be bought! Speaking from personal experience, I know that a large portion of my hard earned dollars goes towards shoes. Sometimes, it’s in your best interest to just walk away. Other times (most times) the best thing to do is to look for a cheaper alternative. It may not be the real deal, but it’s probably not far off.
It’s safe to say that Adidas Originals Stan Smith sneakers were the IT shoes of this school year. If you couldn’t bring yourself to spend $75 on a pair, but you still want to rock the trend, you can find tons of dupes online for less than half the price. This pair, found on ASOS.com for $30, undoubtedly resembles the Stan Smiths. They even have a colored heal patch like the originals.
The warmer months are coming so it’s almost time to pull out your summer sandals. One popular option for this time is always Birkenstock sandals. While they are comfortable and trendy, depending on the style you choose, you might spend over $100 on one pair alone. As a cheaper alternative, Birkenstock released a new, rubber version of their popular “Arizona” style. Originally $100-$135, you can purchase the new version for only $35.
If you were lucky enough to get a pair of Rihanna’s Puma slides within the 30 minutes before they sold out online, you should be proud! If you didn’t and are still itching to get you hands on a pair of slides, you don’t have to look far, and you also don’t have to spend $80 to get some. Slip into a more weather appropriate version by Nike for $25. They’re easy to slip on and very appropriate for the athleisure trend that everyone is rocking.
Chances are Daniel’s got you wanting a pair of white Vans. While the original shoes aren’t ridiculously expensive, you can definitely still find a similar pair for a cheaper price! This H&M pair is only $24.99, and has a subtle texture for added style. For the same price, you also have the option of a canvas pair with a slight platform.
Whether you’re looking to save some money, or you just want to buy trendy shoes for the moment, it never hurts to find a cheaper alternative.
